   FROM CAROLYN BATTLE: Robotics Organizational Meeting:
DON'T PANIC! DON'T DELETE THIS UNTIL YOU READ IT!!!

I know you're not ready to start receiving emails from me yet, and I'm
not ready to start sending them, but I wanted you to have a heads-up on
this meeting!

On May 29th at 6:30, we will have an organizational meeting for the
fall robotics program.  We will discuss dates, meeting times, Monday
robotics club activities, fundraising, and all the ways parents can
help make our program successful!!!  We need your input in
decision-making with all the changes inherent with changing TT to
Monday.

Please put this on your schedule now so that you can be "in-the-know"
from the get-go!!! We are looking forward to another terrific year of
robotics and hope to see you there!

 This is just a Quick Update & Reminder!

 Basketball: We have started the recreational basketball at the Herrin Chandler Branch of the YMCA! It is from 1 to 2 every Saturdays inside the gym at the Y.  It is open to ages 11-19.

 We have an opportunity to play in the select league for players under 15, but we have to register before the end of the month. Please contact Donny Franklin, email: fran503@bellsouth.net or phone: 709-3282, if you are interested. STEVE HUERTA is working with the boys, but we need a coach or two more, and a bunch of boys and girls.

Golf: We had a meeting with the parents who had expressed an interest in the golf.  Magnolia Grove is our home course and we have a golf-pro, H. W. Parker, who will provide instruction.  The instruction will be from 1:30 to 3:00 PM on Fridays and the team will play nine - eighteen holes once every week or two.  There are six boys signed up for the team at this point.  Linda Johnson has expressed an interest in managing the team.  Please call Donny Franklin at 709-3282 if you are interested, we still have room for more.  Donny will contact all those who have signed up with the start date for practice later this week.

 Coaches: We are still looking for coaches to help support our kids!  We need a cheerleading coach, soccer, baseball, softball & volleyball.  If you would like to see a football team develop we will need a football coach! We are thinking about flag football to teach the boys the fundamentals of the game before we start a tackle team.

 Again, we need your help if we are going to make this work!  Please consider volunteering for the board, we have several position open at this time, committee or coaching!  If you are interested contact either Donny Franklin or Lesa Witherington.
