High School Meeting for Parents and Students:

3:15 – 4:15 PM,   Thursday, November 8.  The Gap

 

Several issues: Adult leadership committee to lead the activities for the high school students. Also, each of the freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes need to elect officers. If your student is interested in holding an office, please have them present a SHORT campaign speech. They can bring posters on Tuesday or early Thursday for display. These will be posted in the schoolhouse.  High School spring dinner and more. Ida Thrasher will there to meet with parents of seniors concerning graduation announcements, etc.

 

Achievement Tests:

Peaches Fink of Moffett Road Christian School will coordinate administering SAT tests to any PCS families that would like these for the students who do not take the IOWA tests through Praise Christian School. PCS administers the IOWA to Grades 3, 5, and 8 on April 21-24, Mon –Wed 8-12. We will be needing testers and proctors for our tests. If you are interested in administering the tests, now is the time to contact Bob Jones University Press to qualify.

 

From Peaches:     I have contacted BJU Press about coordinating the SAT for a large group.  I am already an approved Tester as I have helped when MRCS offered the SAT.  Springhill Baptist Church has reserved the entire second floor of their Activity Center for us to use.  There are many rooms up there, and very conducive for taking the test - quiet, separate rooms, bathrooms, water fountain, etc.  For moms wishing to remain on campus during the test, there is a gym for supervised siblings to play ball, bathrooms, vending machines, many cafe tables, benches, and a TV.  Or if they would rather be outside, Lavretta Park is about a mile away.

   

    I would like to extend an invitation to anyone at Praise who would like to participate in the SAT.  We already have four Testers who are committed to giving this test.  There are more Testers coming.

   

    What:   Stanford Achievement Test

    Date:   April 23, 24, & 25, (Wed. and Thurs.; then Fri. would be used for finishing/make up day.)

    Time:   8:00 am until about 12:00 pm

    Grades:  3rd thru 12th

    Where:   Springhill Baptist Church Activity Center (across McGregor from church), 2^nd floor

PCS Senior Class Sponsored Community Activity: The senior class is collecting food items for the Bay Area Food Bank. The seniors are asking every family of Praise Christian School to bring in food items (See list below.) through December 13, 2007. The seniors will deliver the items to the food bank.
