June ? High School Parents'
meeting
=============
IOWA TESTING: 3 days Mon-Wed.
We still need a
couple more test administrators and proctors.
April 12th meeting is to
finalize all the details.
=============
PCS REGISTRATION: Contact Becky at
219-4460 on Tuesday or Thursday.
Ed is available on Thursdays only through
tax season. Thereafter - more
often.
=============
STORM SAFETY:
Information was sent home from T/T last week. Please ask
your child for this
FEMA and Red Cross information.
=============
T/T HOUSEKEEPING
REMINDERS:
Parents, please remind your children to pick up their litter
following
lunch and other activities. In addition, Pam Patrick would like
to
remind all the boys to flush the toilets! This is an on-going
problem
each week.

High School Idea from Sally
Ellington:
What? Seniors 2008 Showcase night for Senior Projects
When? In early September before Robotics take off.
Details that we are
working on: Seniors will be given the opportunity
to showcase their talent as
sort of a senior project. This could be
among the fine arts, oral
presentation, electronics, graphic art, etc.
Each senior would be allotted a
15-minute presentation time and/or a
4-6 foot display table, if needed. If a
senior would like recognition
in the form of a certificate or a metal pin,
he/she will need a letter
of recommendation from an expert or teacher in the
field of interest.
This award would be a nice addition to a transcript and
would be
recognized at graduation.
Note from Bonita: This is a similar
concept to the required senior
project of public high schools. We realize
that there are many areas we
need to enhance our graduates' profiles for
keeping an edge in the
competitive world of college scholarships.

From Carolyn Battle:
AN INNOVATIVE USED CURRICULUM AND BOOK
SALE
Beginning April 5, there will be an INFORMAL USED CURRICULUM
SALE
Where? The church lobby
When? Each Thursday in April from 12
noon-2:00 PM.
Payments? Cash or checks made out to the individual
seller
How will this work?
1. Seller brings items in a box or crate
labeled with her name and
phone number any time after 11:50.
2. Place in
the box or crate an envelope with your name on it for
payment. (Envelopes
will be collected and secured during the sale.)
3. Price each book is
clearly.
4. Bind (rubber band) books together that are sold in bundles.
Note: The boxes will be manned during this time so that you do not
have
to remain there. However, you must retrieve your leftover materials
by
2:00 PM so the tables can be removed. Failure to pick up materials
on
time will result in loss of privilege to sell the following week.
Feel
free to come in and browse as you have time available. We will
close at 2:00
(sharp!); so everyone can be in his or her place of
service teaching.
This will be in lieu of our annual sale and will serve as a test to
see
how well this will work. We are not charging for the privilege to
sell,
but that may change if circumstances dictate. If you have any
questions
or suggestions, please let us know. We are open! We will look
for
feedback at the end of the month to determine future
plans.
